Maasai Bangles

Maasai bangles are made in Kenya by Jedando Modern Handicrafts. Maasai women string glass seed beads on string and wrap them around solid rubber rings to create these colorful bangles.  The income from the bangles provides much needed funds to support their families.

Steel Drum Art

Croix des Bouquet artisans are based in an area of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti known for artisans who make oil drum art. The constant hammering from the sheds in the area led us to beautiful metalwork, with each stop offering new designs.

There are thousands of independent Haitian metal artists striving to make a sustainable living by exporting their pieces from a country where political strife and lack of tourism has eliminated most sales outlets.

This piece is made from recycled oil drums. Each piece is cut by hand and worked with hand tools.
